Pete Richardson – Mechanical Systems Manager

As the son of an engineer, Pete has always been fascinated by how things work. After earning his degree in Mechanical Engineer at SUNY Buffalo and Master’s degree at Union Graduate College, Pete went on to work for some of the most recognized corporate titans in the industry – GE, Carrier, and Bechtel (as a prime contractor to the Navy) – gaining a wide variety of valuable engineering experience.

When an old high school friend, John Moynihan, approached him with the prospect of getting in on the ground floor of a new boutique energy firm, Pete jumped at the chance to get back heavily into power generation. Pete took a leading role on the Albany Med CHP project and has played an active role on all subsequent Cogen projects.

As the Plant Manager of the company-owned Burrstone Energy Center Microgrid, Pete has first-hand experience at running, troubleshooting, and problem-solving issues that arise at a CHP Plant. Pete has the knack of speaking “operator-speak” and is heavily involved in training and mentoring plant staff. On the weekends, Pete is an avid outdoorsman and when spring approaches you can find him in the sugar shack making maple syrup.
