Carissa Petras – Assistant Project Engineer
Growing up in a small town in the Mohawk Valley, Carissa looked to continue her education and career at places that gave her the same “hometown” feel. As an engineering student at Clarkson University, Carissa obtained a summer internship at a general contractor which partners with Cogen.
She got introduced to the Cogen team and projects and it sparked her interest. When the offer to work at Cogen after graduation was tendered, Carissa saw it as great way to apply her dual major in Engineering and Management and become part of a close knit project team. At Cogen, her main role is to support all technical and financial calculations and analyses performed during the detailed CHP feasibility studies.
She interfaces with the design engineers, equipment suppliers, and major subcontractors to insure scope, cost, and schedule are tightly controlled. Now on the job for several years, one of the most satisfying aspects of the job is seeing the feasibility studies spur actual projects under construction and in operation. Outside the office, Carissa makes the most of her busy social life with family and friends.
